Terms of service
Last updated: 10 May 2026
1. Acceptance of the terms
By downloading, installing or using Soplo (the “App”), you accept these Terms of Service. If you do not agree, do not use the App. The service is operated by ByteGuard S.L.
2. Service description
Soplo is a community app for real-time road alerts. Drivers share information about traffic events (speed cameras, police checks, helicopters, crashes, hazards, roadworks and other events) to warn nearby drivers. Alerts are generated by the community and are informational and advisory.
3. Use requirements
- You must be at least 17 years old.
- If you create an account, you must provide truthful registration information.
- You are responsible for keeping your account and device secure.
- You may use the App without creating an account (anonymous mode), but some features may be limited.
4. Use of the App
4.1 Anonymous mode
Soplo supports anonymous use without registration. In this mode, a unique device identifier is generated solely to prevent duplicate alert confirmations. This identifier is not shared with other users or linked to personal data.
4.2 Registered account
You can sign in with Apple to access additional features. Each person may have one account. Shared accounts are prohibited.
4.3 Alerts
When you publish an alert, it is shared with nearby drivers within its reach. Alerts expire automatically after 24 hours. If other users confirm an alert, its duration is extended automatically. Available alert types are speed camera, police check, helicopter, traffic, crash, hazard, roadworks and other.
4.4 Confirmations
You can confirm or dismiss an existing alert. Each user may vote only once per alert. Confirmations help the community determine how reliable each warning is.
5. User content
When you publish alerts, you grant us a limited licence to process and distribute that content within the App solely to inform other drivers. Content is not shared outside the App. You must not publish content that is:
- False or intentionally misleading.
- Infringing third-party rights.
- Illegal, offensive or facilitating illegal activity.
- Harassing, threatening or manipulating other users.
6. Prohibited use
You must not:
- Use the App to facilitate illegal activity.
- Reverse engineer, decompile or disassemble the App.
- Use bots, scripts or automated methods to interact with the App.
- Create multiple accounts to bypass restrictions.
- Share access to your account with third parties.
- Deliberately and repeatedly submit false alerts.
7. Push notifications
Soplo may send push notifications about alerts near your location. You can configure which alert types you receive or disable notifications entirely in Settings > Notifications. Notifications require a device token managed through Expo Push Notifications.
8. Intellectual property
Soplo, including its design, code, brand and content, is owned by ByteGuard S.L. User-generated alerts may be freely viewed within the App, but may not be extracted in bulk, commercially redistributed or publicly attributed to Soplo without permission.
9. Account deletion
You can delete your account at any time in Settings > Account > Delete account. This permanently and irreversibly deletes all your data, including your profile, history and preferences.
10. Limitation of liability
Soplo is provided “as is” without warranties of any kind. Alerts are generated by the user community and ByteGuard S.L. does not guarantee their accuracy, truthfulness or currency. ByteGuard S.L. is not liable for indirect, incidental or consequential damages arising from use of the App, including fines, accidents or any consequence of acting on displayed alerts.
The driver remains responsible at all times for following current traffic rules. Soplo is an informational tool and does not replace attention to driving or compliance with the law.
11. Changes
We reserve the right to amend these terms. Significant changes will be communicated through the App or by email. Continued use of Soplo after changes means you accept the updated terms.
12. Governing law
These terms are governed by Spanish law. Any dispute will be submitted to the courts and tribunals of the city where ByteGuard S.L. has its registered office.
